Ésta es una propuesta artística para una pared de una ciudad, motivada por el concurso que Diesel convocó para la ciudad de Nueva York, en el barrio de Chelsea.
Homenajeando a Walt Whitman, el poeta de Manhatan, que evoca ARTE, MÚSICA, AMOR, ENERGÍA POSITIVA, CANTO A UNO MISMO…, la imagen es un pianista tocando un canto enigmatico.
Lo primero que me inspiró de esta pared medianera, fueron sus elementos arquitectónicos, sus ventanas y balcones laterales y su escala, todo ello sumado con su energía potencial para llegar a ser una pieza de ARTE.
De pronto, sus líneas se me antojaban teclas de piano, lo era, y alguien tocaba una dulce y enigmática canción.
Así que, leí de nuevo este poema de Whitman.
“Aquello que se esquiva de este poema y de cualquier otro poema,
inavertido por el oído más fino, sin forma para los ojos más
penetrantes, o para la inteligencia más sagaz,
que no es ni ciencia, ni fama, ni felicidad, ni riquezas,…
y, no obstante, es el latido incesante de todos los corazones y de todas
las vidas del mundo,…
…Manifieso, pero secreto; lo real de lo real, una ilusión,
Sin coste, otorgado a todos, sin que hombre alguno lo posea,…
…Lo invoco aquí y lo solicito para este canto.
Con indiferencia, en parajes públicos y privados, en la soledad,…
…Compañero de las calles más bulliciosas de la ciudad, a través de la multitud,
Aquello y sus rayos se deslizan constantemente.”
Jugando con estas herramientas, propuse esta pieza, la cual es:
-urbana; una nueva fachada para la calle y el barrio de Chelsea, en la que sus ventanas aparecen y desaparecen dependiendo de la distancia desde la que sea observada, otorgando nuevos significados.
-arquitectónica: una nueva fachada para el edificio, con una composición de líneas rectas y orgánicas, que mantiene y remarca los elementos existentes, dándoles valor.
-artística; porque utiliza herramientas artísticas para transformar su espacio y físico y el vacío que lo conforma, porque está basada en un poema de Whitman, y porque está hecha con herramientas artísticas, fotografía, música, poesía…
-mística; porque tiene la facultad de evocar sonidos y buenos sentimientos.
Técnica: Impresión digital sobre lona microperforada, cosida y colgada de la pared con ganchos, o pintada directamente en la pared.
No fue seleccionada, pero fue un gozo prepararla.

The final image is a pianist playing a riddle song.
What first of all inspired me out of this Diesel wall-facade was its architectonic elements, its scale and its windows, together with its potencial energy to become a piece of ART.
Suddenly i imagined a piano out of it and someone playing a sweet riddle song.
So, I read again this Whitman poem…
“That which eludes this verse and any verse,
Unheard by sharpest ear, unform´d in clearest eye or cunningest mind,
Nor lore for fame, nor happiness nor wealth,
And yet the pulse of every Herat and life throughout the World
Incessantly,
Open but still a secret, the real of the real, an illusion,

Playing with this powerful tools i made this piece which is:
-urban; a new facade for the street and the Chelsea neighbourhood, in which its windows appear or disappear depending on the distance from where it´s observed, contributing new meanings with its changes.
-architectonic (a new facade for the building and the street, with alive vertical, horizontal and organic lines keeping and remarking the existing elements of the wall)
-artistic; because it´s based on a Manhatan´s lover artist, Whitman and its made with artistic tools, photography, music, poetry…
-mystic; because it has the faculty to evocate sounds and good feelings
Technic: Digital print on mesh textile fringes, sew and hung them out of the wall with hooks, or paint directly on the wall
